The 2020 Presidential Election is coming to a close, being one of the most anxiety-filled, stressful, and chaotic elections in American history. As Biden appears to be leading, the probability of new leadership is fresh in people's minds.
So, what do these presidents do once they leave the White House? Former President Jimmy Carter (1977-1981) worked with and for humanitarian foundations until the old age of 84 when he moved back into his father's old wood-working shop, where he remains to this day at 96. George Washington, after his presidency, tended to Mount Vernon for the short life he lived afterward. But what about former president Obama? Obama makes Spotify Playlists.
The former President of the United States has remained very prominent as a public figure after his presidency, most notably going to very hip places and appealing to the younger generations. He engages in dad jokes and visits local ice cream parlors, which shows one of the reasons he was so popular as a president. "Music is a universal language, one that all can feel and understand regardless of who you are," said Obama. His playlist is composed of very notable artists such as Jay-Z; Obama stated that "while reviewing my notes ahead of debates, I'd listen to Jay-Z's 'My 1st Song' or Frank Sinatra's 'Luck Be a Lady'."
His Spotify Playlist is linked at the bottom of this article. Now let's find out what students
think about his music taste. When we asked "who is the last person you'd expect to listen to
Jay-Z?" students’ responses varied:
"Probably Barack Obama," stated aspiring workout blogger Alessandro Riganese.
"The pope," stated Mariafe Concha, a 10th-grade student.
"Rhianna." When we asked why Rhianna, Andres Rondon responded, "I remember
hearing about that in a documentary. They should make a collab, though."
